about

"Let the beauty of what you do be what you love."

quote

- Rumi

Our designs are romantic, organic, textural, and garden-inspired. We focus on creating designs that are approachable but elegant, with a curated selection of vases, candle holders, candles, ribbon, and decor pieces. Lilyput also partners with luxe linen and rental companies to add additional furniture and other special touches to your wedding day.

Lilyput (formerly Flourish & Bloom Events) is a boutique event design studio specializing in seasonal florals, approachable event design, and quality service. We create thoughtful weddings based on you as a couple. If you love vintage decor, we'll use it in your tablescapes but if you're requesting it because it's popular, we'll find something that reflects your true style. Our favorite blooms to work with are garden roses, ranunculus, anemone, jasmine, and carnations (not your standard grocery store colors, of course) but we're always open to your ideas.

Flower, leaf, petal, stem. Plucked, cut, and precisely arranged in their vases. Layered and textured, they lay expertly fluffed and tufted into place. These bespoke sculptures are crafted by hand and it's their eclectic touches and delicate details that keep us inspired. It's here that daisies are placed and roses are posed, and many others are styled to perfection.

About Lilyput

I realized the importance of details that are more than Pinterest-worthy. Now, I not only believe in beautiful design but the start of a beautiful marriage, that leads to a life well-lived.

In 2015, our son, AJ, was born and our lives became more full of love. AJ is a sweet three-year-old boy who shows more kindness than anyone I know. Living right outside Chicago with our two dogs and preschooler, life is full but sweet.

After college, I dipped my toes in hospitality management, which is where my love for art and hospitality collided. I took a winding path to get to where I am today and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

On a sweet June day in 2013, I married my handsome husband Joe in Michigan. I went through the wedding planning process for myself and that changed things for me.

I love travel and adventures, good wine, iced coffee, fresh cut flowers, and home decor. As a child, I ruined the kitchen table with endless art projects and crafts. I was always coming up with something new. I followed that creativity through college with a degree in Fine Art and Graphic Design from the University of Northern Iowa.

About Jill Wejman

Owner & Creative Director

I love pulling inspiration from home decor and design. I gain inspiration from travel and architecture as well. I also like a good old fashioned mood board by clipping photos from magazines. Of course, Pinterest is a great resource but I prefer to use it as a tool.

WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR INSPIRATION?

Yes! I design stationery and I also work with other talented stationers and calligraphers. Stationery is an important detail in event design. I love to incorporate it for those clients looking for an elevated experience. It's the perfect way to add touches of your relationship and personality to your wedding day.

Do you still design invitations and day of stationery?

This business was originally Flourish and Bloom Events and it was a mouthful. I hired Jingleheimer to help me come up with a new name. I wasn't sold at first but then the more I looked at it and worked with it, the more I liked it. It started to feel right.

Where does the name lilyput come from?
